Theatre

By 2b Acting...

We started on stage with  'A Woman’s Choice'. The play had six performances at Hoxton Hall in London.  Since then we have produced, staged and toured  'Pimlico', 'Full English' , 'The Cleaner' and 'Spike'.  Our new play ‘Page 27’ is in development.

Page 27 - Our next play

The clock is ticking and the count down has started to our most ambitious play yet.  Page 27 is set to be Yorkshires first augmented reality play.

Page 27 is a new play based on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and it will be written by 2b Acting's resident playwright David Jones.

Page 27 is an innovative play designed to engage new audiences and challenge creative boundaries by using today's communication platforms such as the internet, mobile phones, radio and TV to make theatre more accessible.

Augmented reality plays use the real world as the stage on which the story is told.  To the audience the characters of the play appear to exist in real space and time and they are able to follow the story in much the same way as they follow the journey of characters on reality TV shows.

Our funding application has started and you can follow our progress on our news page.

‘The Cleaner’ tells the story of Carla who cleans for Sid and her unwanted interference into his private world after reading his counselling journals – An interference that leads to disturbing consequences… Exploring themes of trust, identity and abuse, this play asks the questions, ‘How much can we trust our memories of the past and how much can others trust what they think they know about us?’

Immigration policy is contributing to the growth of crime and a growing number of unprotected victims. Many of the people coming to this country illegally are at the mercy of criminal gangs. There is now a network of human traffickers and gangmasters, living like parasites off human misery. Society fears continue to force political parties and the Government towards exasperating policies that tolerates a state of affairs in which entire communities live in the shadows.

Controversial play about forbidden love, exploitation, abuse and the need to be free.
